The
2007 Committee is pleased and excited to welcome The Doylestown Art
League (DAL) to Oktoberfest. This year artists from the Art League will be
on site displaying their work as well as creating new pieces of art
right on sight. In addition, there will be an art (coloring) area
for the kids so that they can also demonstrate their talents.
The
Doylestown Art League was founded in 1959 by the late Walter Fell
and 19 fellow artists. Today, with more than 40 years of service to
its members and to the community, the League is one of Bucks
County's leading cultural institutions. DAL is dedicated to the
appreciation, education and practice of art.
Many members of Doylestown Art League are artist recognized locally,
regionally and internationally for the outstanding quality of their
work, but membership is open to anyone, artist or non-artist, 16
years or older, who is interested in supporting the visual arts.
Members range from novice to professional.
All
meetings of the Doylestown Art League are open to the public. Held
at the James Lorah Home, Broad and Main Streets, Doylestown, (across
from the Bucks County Courthouse) , meetings begin at 7:30 p. m.,
usually on the first Thursday of the month.
Whether you follow a certain artists work or are looking for the
perfect picture to fit your perfect room, come explore and enjoy our
local artists.
