Volunteers... Doylestown Township is dedicated to providing a high quality community celebration for our residents and neighbors throughout the region. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to make this event possible. Your individual and collective time and talents combined with the strong support of corporate sponsors and the regional and local business community enable Oktoberfest to succeed.

As Oktoberfest
Volunteers: Admissions, Ticket Sales & Info.: Responsible adult volunteers with a friendly manner and good public relation skills are needed. Volunteers take money, dispense tickets and return change, and provide general information. Family/Teen Night: Responsible adult volunteers to assist as general chaperones and to volunteer tin essential areas such as admissions, ticket sales, parking, midway, etc. Family Expo: Assist in setup and takedown of area and general operations of the area and general operation of the area as assigned. Parking Attendants: Volunteers direct traffic, monitor restricted parking areas. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Costume Characters: Responsible individuals to wear costumes on site and/or chaperone characters. Pony Rides: Must be at least 14 years of age and have parental permission. Volunteers assist vendor with tasks as needed. Pumpkin Painting: Supervise and keep ready area. Take tickets, assist participants as necessary. Maintain supplies in an orderly fashion. Hole-In-One Assistants: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteers take registrations and money, shuttle (via golf cart) players from registration to the tee, monitor qualified shoot out finalists, retrieve golf balls, etc. 5K Road Race: Volunteers assist with overall setup and takedown, monitor the race and direct the runners, and operate water stations. Clean Team: Volunteers assist throughout the event in keeping the event site clean. This includes keeping the dining area neat and clean, wiping tables, straightening chair and tables, and placing trash in the appropriate receptacles. Trash receptacles are to be emptied when necessary and liners placed in receptacles. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. It is suggested that all teen volunteers (14-16) have a parent or adult volunteer who knows them on site during the same shift. All teen volunteers under the age of 18 MUST have the "Participant Agreement" section of the Volunteer Registration Form signed by a parent or legal guardian. To get the free Reader, click the icon. · Please use one form for each volunteer. · Volunteering Together: Volunteers who want to be assigned together should identify their partners on their registration forms and submit the forms together. Forms not received together will be held pending receipt of the other forms, which may result in a second or third choice assignment. All efforts will be made to honor requests, but placement cannot be guaranteed. · Minimum Hour Requirements: In order to schedule the entire Oktoberfest event and to ensure the necessary volunteer coverage, volunteers are requested to serve two shift throughout the weekend. We realize that some people may have difficulty meeting this requirement, therefore at least one full shift is requested. · Volunteers should plan to arrive on site with enough time to check in and be at your assigned location by the start of your designated shift. · Setup & Takedown: This may involve strenuous work. Volunteers for this function should not be limited in their ability to lift and perform strenuous tasks. · Scheduling Policy: Volunteer assignments will be filled on a first come, first served basis, however, requested times and locations are not guaranteed. Special consideration may be given based upon prior experience and skill. · An arrest and conviction record does not automatically preclude you from volunteering. However, the nature of the offense will be considered when assigning duties and location. VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION PACKAGE: Volunteer appreciation packages will be available for pick up at the Township Administration Office beginning September 21st. All volunteers must pick up and sign for his/her own packet. Confirmation of your scheduled time and assignment location and responsibilities will be included in your packet. Volunteers will receive an admission pass for each scheduled day. Volunteers serving less than 6 hours per day will receive $2.50 in food and beverage tickets and Volunteer T-shirt. Volunteers serving over 6 hours per day will receive a Volunteer T-shirt and $5.00 in food and beverage tickets. If you are unable to work your shift as scheduled, we request that you return your volunteer package to the Township Building. Shirts/tickets are ordered based on projections of staffing needs. Extras are NOT available. |
